With Governor Hogan announcing all public schools will be closed March 16 through March 27 in the interest of public health and safety, Archbishop Gregory has indicated that all Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese of Washington will be closed during this same time frame.

Additionally, the State of Maryland has ordered that no public gatherings in excess of 250 people may be held until further notice. As a result of this order, Archbishop Gregory has indicated there will be no public Masses offered in archdiocesan parishes, missions, campus ministries, and chapels beginning Saturday, March 14, until further notice.

Please be aware that Archbishop Gregory has issued a dispensation from the obligation to attend Mass to all parishioners of the Archdiocese of Washington beginning SaturdayMarch 14.

Sacraments such as weddings and funerals will be celebrated on a case-by-case basis and are limited to immediate family only. If you have concerns about an upcoming Sacrament please contact the priest involved.

The Archdiocese realizes this is a significant disruption to how we all celebrate our faith and carry out the mission of the Church. We hope these changes are for a very limited period of time. Please stay home and consider watching the TV Masses that are offered.

Let us remember to keep each other - and all those impacted - close in prayer during these challenging moments.
